Editorial & Research

We are LocalScape – a network of makers, neighbors, and explorers. Our goal is to make visible the stories behind local brands, handmade products, and urban initiatives. We work for everyone who seeks the extraordinary in everyday life and wants to actively shape their community.
We show people and their work as they are: with edges, quirks, and a lot of passion. No staged images, but real insights into workshops, stores, and projects.
Whether a pottery studio, market stall, or community garden – we believe change begins small. That's why we support initiatives that strengthen togetherness and keep the neighborhood vibrant.
Local products mean short distances, less packaging, and greater awareness of resources. We introduce people who, with their ideas, show how sustainable living works naturally.
Whether a young design label, urban garden, or pop-up culture – we document how real projects emerge from small beginnings. Our focus is on the process, not just the result.
We see ourselves as a platform, not a stage. Every contribution is created in conversation with the makers. This results in portraits that are close to the subject and reflect the diversity of the local scene.
We curate a growing map of workshops, studios, and shops that you can filter by neighborhood or product type. Each entry includes a short story, opening hours, and direct contact with the team.
Yes, we would be delighted. Simply send us an email at info@localgoat.com with your project's name, a short description, and a photo. We review every suggestion and add it to our map whenever possible.
This varies from brand to brand. Many of our partners offer a small online shop or a pickup service. On each brand's detail page, you will find information on whether shipping is available.
Searching and discovering brands is completely free for you. Listings for small workshops and individuals are also currently free of charge. We only charge a small fee for larger companies to cover operational costs.
We update the map approximately every two weeks. New shops, pop-ups, and seasonal projects are usually added within a few days of us learning about them.
Yes, many studios and workshops operate by appointment. The respective brand page will indicate whether you can simply drop by or should send a message beforehand. It is best to use the provided phone number or email for this.
